Podcasts for Women's History Month!

Happy Women's History Month! This may come as a shock, but at the Jewish Women's Archive, every month -- correction: every minute of every month -- is Women's History Month. Still, there's no reason why we shouldn't do something special on cue with the Gregorian calendar, right? Of course.

Throughout this very special month, and in keeping with the tradition of our monthly podcast, JWA is launching a series of thematic podcast features of Jewish women recalling some of the "ah-ha!" moments that catalyzed their social activism, political leadership, or their work as religious innovators.

Check out our first feature, Jewish Women and Social Activism. Listen to women like Bernice Stern recall a moment when she took a stand to condemn racial prejudice against African-American soldiers serving in World War II. It was this moment that shaped much of her career in advocating for minority rights.

We hope you'll be inspired by these Jewish social activists' voices and stories! Stay tuned for more Women's History Month podcast features over the next few weeks.

Please check out Bernice Samuels and the women of Little Rock, Arkansas, who worked to get the schools opened after Governor Faubus had them shut down when integration was ordered. Federal troops were sent in.

Double your impact to amplify Jewish women’s stories—
All gifts matched up to $35,000

Before you close this article, please consider supporting the Jewish Women’s Archive and uplifting Jewish women’s voices.

At JWA, we preserve the voices of Jewish women and gender-expansive people past and present, share them freely with millions online, and empower a new generation of Jewish feminists to lead with courage, creativity, and conviction.

But none of this happens without you. JWA is an independent nonprofit— we rely on people, like you, who believe that history belongs to all of us and that the voices of Jewish women must remain powerful, and heard.

This month, a generous JWA board member will match every gift dollar for dollar—up to $35,000—through June 30. Your contribution goes twice as far right now.

Every contribution—no matter the size—helps us document, teach, and inspire through Jewish women’s stories.

It takes less than a minute to make a difference.
