#JWAmegaphone: Voices of Power and Protest
At JWA, we believe that history is not only about the past, but also about the present—it’s unfolding every day. Recent events have made us more keenly aware than ever that we’re living through history in the making. And not just witnessing it—we are part of it, makers of history with each action we take.
Taken together, those actions tell a story—a story about how people protest, honor, resist, and remember; about how we struggle, hope, dream, and make change.
JWA will be documenting and sharing these stories, with your help. We are launching a new collecting project: #JWAmegaphone: Voices of Power and Protest. Over the coming months, beginning with the events around inauguration weekend and the women’s marches, we invite you to share your stories and experiences with us. We will offer prompts to spark your storytelling, and encourage you to upload text, audio, or images to our site in response. You may also share on social media, using the hashtag #JWAmegaphone.
Some starting prompts for Inauguration and Women’s Marches
- What story will you tell future generations about this moment?
- Who are you inspired by?
Add your voice and your stories to #JWAmegaphone!
Some of the most powerful historical records from previous generations are the letters written home about the experiences that shaped those generations—travels, wars, social justice movements. Through #JWAmegaphone, we hope to capture some of the insight and intimacy of that lost form. Thank you for making history with us.
Double your impact to amplify Jewish women’s stories—
All gifts matched up to $35,000
Before you close this article, please consider supporting the Jewish Women’s Archive and uplifting Jewish women’s voices.
At JWA, we preserve the voices of Jewish women and gender-expansive people past and present, share them freely with millions online, and empower a new generation of Jewish feminists to lead with courage, creativity, and conviction.
But none of this happens without you. JWA is an independent nonprofit— we rely on people, like you, who believe that history belongs to all of us and that the voices of Jewish women must remain powerful, and heard.
This month, a generous JWA board member will match every gift dollar for dollar—up to $35,000—through June 30. Your contribution goes twice as far right now.
Every contribution—no matter the size—helps us document, teach, and inspire through Jewish women’s stories.
It takes less than a minute to make a difference.
Thank you for being a part of the JWA community,

Judith Rosenbaum, CEO
